Community Involvement at Edwards Nissan

Community Involvement

Here at Edwards Nissan, we believe that in order to strengthen a business, you have to also strengthen the community that helps you build it. We are proud to support our community in any way we can, that’s why the Edwards Nissan team is always looking for new community partnerships in addition to the organizations we already serve. Take a look below at some of our most recent community contributions and let us know how we can help further our reach in the communities across Council Bluffs, Omaha, and beyond.

Wings of Hope

This past October, Edwards Nissan, Kia, and Hyundai were able to donate $8,375 from our Moovin’ Metal Sale to the Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center here in Council Bluffs. Wings of Hope takes a more comprehensive approach to services for people with cancer as well as their family members. Their goal is to provide emotional support and guidance for people, family members, and health professionals as they journey through their cancer experiences. Wings of Hope also works to provide financial assistance for the different costs that can pop up during treatment, therapeutic counseling for individuals and families, cancer support groups, and a comprehensive integrative approach to medicine.

Our Moovin’ Metal sale helped to support Wings of Hope while also giving customers a chance to win big by being entered into a raffle to win a chest freezer and a side of beef. We continued the contest through November and donated additional money.

Food Bank for the Heartland

As we continued our Moovin’ Metal sale in November, our proceeds for that month went to Foodbank for the Heartland, an amazing organization that distributes food to 600 food pantries, schools, emergency shelters and other nonprofit partners across Nebraska and Iowa. Food Bank for the Heartland acts as a clearinghouse to distribute emergency and supplemental food, but they go further than just providing nourishment; they also supply emergency shelters, schools, and other nonprofit partners across our 93-county service area in Nebraska and western Iowa with food as well. They work to help children, families, seniors and veterans get the healthy food that they deserve. Edwards Nissan was able to donate $21,120 in support to Food Bank for the Heartland, and will continue to provide support.

Feeding the Frontline

December was all about supporting our front-line COVID response workers here at Edwards Nissan. Through our “Feeding the Frontline” program, we have been providing the good people at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital & CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs with free lunch and dinner twice a week in efforts to thank them for all they do to keep our communities healthy and safe during such unprecedented times. With the world being so uncertain, we as a community recognize all of our neighbors working on the front line and appreciate all they do. Feeding the Frontlines is an ongoing program that we plan on continuing throughout the year.
